The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides support to Australians with disability, their families and carers. The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) is the independent agency in charge of the NDIS. The NDIS supports people with disability to build skills and capability so they can participate in the community and employment.
If you’re eligible for NDIS funding and your Access Request is approved, you’ll receive a confirmation letter. After that, you’ll work with the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) to create your NDIS plan.
The NDIA will ask questions about your lifestyle, your goals and what kind of support you need so that a plan can be tailored to suit you and your needs. Your plan will outline your goals and what funding has been allocated to help you achieve them. Everyone’s plan will be different because it is unique to your needs.
Once you have your NDIS plan, you’ll be able to start finding services and supports. If you have ‘support coordination’ included in your plan, a Support Coordinator can help connect you with services and make the most of your NDIS plan.
The NDIA will review your plan at the end of the plan period to make sure you’re receiving the right supports for your needs and goals. If needed, you can also request one sooner.
The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (also known as the NDIS Commission) is an independent government body that works to ensure and improve the safety of NDIS services and supports.

The Compass Institute is a registered NDIS Provider and as a provider of community and centre-based activities, we are eligible to apply Temporary Transformation Payment (TTP) rates.
In line with the rules in the NDIS price guide, the rates Compass charges for supports depends on the nature of the support, where the support is delivered, the time of day the support is delivered, how complex the participant’s needs are and the ratio of supports delivered (i.e. if the participant is supported one-to-one by a support worker, or in a group supported by the same worker). Compass charges participants at the TTP rates under the NDIS Price Guide.
