See the able
not the label

“See the able, not the label” has been developed as an invitation to create an understanding of belonging. This campaign is an opportunity for you to see what we see, stars shining brightly when they are given a platform to flourish.

The eight people selected for this campaign are a diverse group of individuals with a range of interests, desires and capabilities. They also all have a disability.

A woman with dark hair wearing a rainbow-coloured dress and fluffy cat ear headband poses playfully with her hands framing her face, her mouth open as if asking "What If," against a dark background.

For over 20 years, The Compass Institute has helped people with disabilities thrive by seeing them as assets, not labels. We believe that by looking beyond perceived limitations, we can create opportunities for their potential to shine.

This campaign showcases eight individuals who have grown, learned and found meaning through The Compass Institute. We are inspired by them not because they are special, but because they are authentically themselves, flawed, honest and alive.

It is in this shared human experience that we find our common desire to be seen, valued and to belong. By sharing their stories, we want to remind you that you are also capable and worthy. Join us in celebrating the beauty in every person and let’s work together so we can all thrive with kindness and opportunity.

What if…

you could be the difference?
